Hero Motors Limited

Hero Motors is a manufacturer of gearboxes, transmission systems, powertrain components, precision machined products, alloy wheels and e-mobility products for two-wheeled vehicles, E-bikes and all types of other vehicles. This subsidiary of the Hero Group, which is owned by Pankaj Munjal, has been in operation since 1998 and has its headquarters in Ludhiana, Punjab, India. They are also a supplier of transmission and powertrain parts to major global OEMs, including BMW, Ducati, Harley-Davidson and many other automotive manufacturers.

Hero Motors has a balanced approach between technology related primarily to internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles and the growth of the electric vehicle (EV) technology sector. They are also engaged in developing e-bike drive systems and electric vehicle (EV) powertrain solutions using strategic partnerships as well as through expansion based upon technological competency. Recently Hero Motors has received considerable interest in the unlisted market due in large part to continued growth in terms of export sales, adding to their manufacturing capabilities and developing a successful listing of shares through their planned IPO in 2004.
